. Without any contact with nearby Exchange guards, they hurried through the crates and began to load them into the dropship. A couple of minutes later, as soon as they finished loading the crates, they boarded the ship and took off. The flight was brief, and soon the ship landed outside the what looked like a natural fortress in the middle of the sand dunes. The crates was quicky unloaded and the ship left. The agent waited a few more minutes more to ensure that no one was around and then climbed out of the crate. After quick reconnaissance the agent found least guarded entry point and, getting rid off the guards, entered the fortress. Inside the perimeter were several makeshift buildings and tents, a lone radar

The mission was to eliminate the cell entirely, the agent traded stealth for firepower and engaged the enemies head on. The fight was intense, but despite being greatly outnumbered all the time, the agent, building by building, made steady progress towards what looked like the command tent. When the agent finally reached the tent leaving only the dead assassins behind, he was greeted by the old human male with white hair and beard - the Old Man

The Old Man expressed his satisfaction at the arrival of the agent. When Nine demanded to free Hawkins, the Old Man replied that he was not going to harm her because she did well what was expected of her. He explained that when he became aware that Imperial Intelligence had sent Cipher agent against them, he saw an opportunity to lure the the agent to their camp and replace them with a doppelganger to infiltrate Imperial Intelligence. He deliberately let Mia Hawkins escape them, knowing that she would go to Imperial Intelligence. When he sent assassins

after Cipher Nine in Jundland, he was also studying the agent's operational tactics at the same time. He continued to analyse agent's actions while Nine dealt with Milosh Varta and the Exchange. Finally he offered Nine to join them willingly, and when the agent refused, ordered his two elite guards to kill him. The agent easily killed the guards and moments later disarmed the Old Man himself. The agent decided to spare the Old Man's life, and demanded to provide them with all the information. Instead of complying, the Old Man injected himself with a poison and died seconds later. Rather than kill Hawkins or at least take her into custody, Nine decided to let her go because she helped them complete the mission. Before leaving, Hawkins asked the agent to remember that not everyone on the other side is always bad.
The agent headed for the spaceport to use the secure holoterminal on their ship to report success.
